A lifetime student of painting and sculpture, Christi has traveled around the U.S. and to the rarified light in the south of France, observing, sketching and painting. She is originally from upstate New York and has been painting murals in Naples full time since 1999.
Christi’s work has taken her between theatres and film sets, recreating a destroyed 1920’s work of art in the outdoor pergola of the Clark Estate in Cooperstown NY, working as scenic and makeup artist on films including American playhouse’s Native son, feature film The Light of Day starring Joan Jett and Michael J Fox , sculpting parade floats for the city of Chicago, painting large scale opera scenery and refurbishing touring show scenery for shows such as Disney on Ice ,and much more.
Christi currently works from her studio in North Naples when not traveling to paint at other locations.
Artist's Statement.
Although willing and able to create just about whatever kind of painting you may want, be it a formal stenciled ceiling panel, a portrait, or a trompe l’oeil gated window scene using a photo from your favorite trip, my muse is to paint quietly uplifting peaceful scenes that could be any of many places, open to personal interpretation by each viewer. My goal is to successfully combine your preferences with my own memories, visions and artistry to create a visual refuge, a peaceful and personalized space for your mind to wander freely in.
